Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora – Southern in Dunedin is seeking a theatre nurse for a 0.8 FTE fixed-term parental leave cover. The role supports nine main operating theatres, two day surgery theatres and a C-section theatre with a wide range of elective and acute cases.

A NZ registration and APC are required, with 2+ years post‑registration perioperative experience. Salary band $81,000 - $106,000 per annum, pro-rata, plus Kiwisaver.

Qualifications

• 2+ years post registration practice experience in theatre nursing.
• Experience with Orthopaedics preferred.
• New Zealand Registration and Current APC.
• Evidence of adherence to best practice perioperative standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care across nine main operating theatres, two day surgery theatres and a dedicated C-section theatre.
• Collaborate with forward-thinking nurse managers to ensure safe, efficient surgical services.
• Uphold best-practice perioperative standards and patient safety across all theatres.

Salary Band $81,000 - $106,000 per annum, pro-rata. + Kiwisaver

• 0.8 FTE / 64 Hours per fortnight
• Fixed-term Parental leave cover until March 2027

Salary Range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the RN Pay Scale, between $81,683 and $106,739 p.a dependant on relevant experience.
