Job summary

Forté Health in central Christchurch, New Zealand, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with PACU/Recovery expertise to join our perioperative team. The role focuses on post-anaesthetic care in a busy PACU environment and requires excellent teamwork and patient-centred care.

The successful candidate will have NZ registration, at least two years PACU experience, and flexibility with a 0.8 FTE roster. Monday–Friday shifts and typical 7:45 am start times apply.

Qualifications

• NZ Registered Nurse with PACU experience.
• Two years of PACU recovery experience preferred.
• NZ residency or right to work in NZ required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate post‑anaesthesia care in a busy PACU.
• Support perioperative team to ensure smooth patient recovery.
• Monitor vitals, airway, and pain management in PACU.
• Collaborate with families and colleagues to optimise care.

Perioperative - PACU Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse/ Registered Anaesthetic Technician with a specialty in Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU)/Recovery to join our dedicated team.

Success in this role requires a strong team player who communicates effectively, works collaboratively, and enjoys supporting the fundamental functions and needs of a busy PACU environment.

These are the role details;

• Monday to Friday roster
• Shift lengths generally range from8to 10 hours beginning at7:45 am through to 9pm

We welcome applications from NZ Registered Nurses, and suitably qualified perioperative nurses, with at least two years of recent PACU experience. Including internationally experienced recovery nurses, perioperative qualified and Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) who are eligible to work in New Zealand healthcare settings.
