Job summary

Forté Health in central Christchurch is seeking an experienced Perioperative Practitioner with PACU/Recovery expertise to join a dedicated PACU team. The role emphasizes collaboration, effective communication, and patient-centred recovery support within a busy hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will have NZ registration or eligibility to work here, at least two years of PACU experience, and a commitment to excellent patient care. This permanent 0.8 FTE position offers a stable schedule.

Qualifications

• NZ Registered Nurses or perioperative practitioners with at least two years PACU experience.
• NZ registration or eligibility to work in NZ healthcare settings.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in a busy PACU environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate perioperative care in PACU, supporting recovery and safe patient handovers.
• Communicate effectively with surgical teams, nurses and whānau to ensure smooth PACU operations.

Perioperative Practitioner / PACU

TŪRANGA THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Perioperative Practitioner with a specialty in Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU)/Recovery to join our dedicated team.

Success in this role requires a strong team player who communicates effectively, works collaboratively, and enjoys supporting the fundamental functions and needs of a busy PACU environment.

These are the role details;

• Monday to Friday roster
• Shift lengths generally range from 8 to 10 hours beginning at 7:45 am through to 9pm
• Permanent position, 0.8 FTE

We welcome applications from NZ Registered Nurses, and suitably qualified perioperative practitioners, with at least two years of recent PACU experience. Including internationally experienced recovery practitioners and Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) who are eligible to work in New Zealand healthcare settings.
