Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Taranaki is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the surgical day ward on a permanent 0.8 FTE basis. You will provide care and uphold best practice nursing services with patients at the centre of everything we do.

The role involves peri-operative and post-operative nursing, collaboration with theatre, endoscopy, CNS and other specialists, and contributing to a supportive, patient‑centred team in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Current NZ Nursing Registration and practicing certificate.
• Able to cope with varied workload and work under pressure.
• 2+ years surgical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide peri-operative and postoperative nursing care.
• Collaborate with theatre staff, endoscopy, CNS and other specialists.

About the Team / Service / Location

Our team plays an integral part in the peri-operative phase and surgical post operative care, we work closely with theatre, endoscopy, CNS and many of the specialist within health New Zealand Taranaki. We care for patients undergoing a board range of specialities in a high turnover environment. Our priority is to provide professional and exceptional quality nursing care to our patients, their whanau, staff and visitors whilst in our department.
