Job summary

Presbyterian Support Otago, in Dunedin, is seeking a Registered Nurse for Ross Home on a casual basis. You will lead a shift of Health Care Assistants and Enrolled Nurses to deliver comprehensive healthcare that promotes independence and quality of life for residents.

You will develop, implement and evaluate integrated care plans and perform general nursing duties. A current NZ annual practising certificate and the ability to make sound clinical decisions are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current New Zealand annual practising certificate.
• Sound clinical knowledge with awareness of relevant legislation.
• Ability to make clinical decisions in residents' best interests.
• Strong time management and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Empathy, compassion and patience; excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experience in care of older people is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead a shift of Health Care Assistants and Enrolled Nurses to provide comprehensive healthcare to residents.

The Role

At Enliven, we create elder-centred communities where older people have companionship, meaningful activity, purpose, and fun in their lives. As a Registered Nurse at Presbyterian Support Otago, you will lead a shift of Health Care Assistants and Enrolled Nurses to provide comprehensive healthcare to residents in a way that promotes independence and quality of life.

You will develop, implement, and evaluate an integrated plan of health care as well as perform general nursing functions. You will need sound nursing knowledge including an awareness of legislation. You will have the ability to make clinical decisions that are in the best interests of the residents’ well-being and safety. Your relationships with residents and families will be built on trust, respect, and value for the contribution they make to the home.

Hours

This is a casual position. We are looking for someone who can work on a when and if required basis.

About You

The ideal applicant will have:
