Job summary

Presbyterian Support Otago, in Dunedin, is seeking a Registered Nurse for Ross Home on a casual basis. You will lead a shift of Health Care Assistants and Enrolled Nurses to deliver comprehensive healthcare that promotes independence and quality of life for residents.

You will develop, implement and evaluate integrated care plans and perform general nursing duties. A current NZ annual practising certificate and the ability to make sound clinical decisions are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current New Zealand annual practising certificate.
• Sound clinical knowledge with awareness of relevant legislation.
• Ability to make clinical decisions in residents' best interests.
• Strong time management and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Empathy, compassion and patience; excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experience in care of older people is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead a shift of Health Care Assistants and Enrolled Nurses to provide comprehensive healthcare to residents.
• Develop, implement and evaluate an integrated plan of health care.
• Perform general nursing functions with sound clinical knowledge.
• Make clinical decisions in the residents' wellbeing and safety.
• Build relationships with residents and families based on trust and respect.
