Job summary

Radius Care in Timaru is seeking a Registered Nurse for casual, as-needed shifts. You will perform person-centred care, complete assessments and care plans, and support residents and families with compassionate, evidence-based care.

Role involves administering medicines, monitoring changes, and coordinating with the healthcare team. Relevant NZRN registration and reporting skills are essential; visa restrictions apply to casual RN roles.

Qualifications

• Current NZ Annual Practising Certificate is required.
• Computer literacy with concise reporting skills.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts.
• 1+ years RN experience in NZ preferred.

Responsibilities

Location: Radius Elloughton Gardens, 1 Pages Rd, Marchwiel, Timaru

Hours of work: Casual, as and when required

Note: Radius Care cannot support work visas/visa changes for casual RN roles. Visa-holders must have a current visa with open work rights and preferably at least 6 months left until expiry.

About the role

Gain valuable experience in person-centred care, and enhance your critical thinking skills. Complete patient assessments and care plans. Provide exceptional care, while evaluating outcomes for residents and their families. Monitor changes to residents’ conditions and behaviours. Administer medicines, and assist residents with daily activities.

Duties include

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documents
• Educate and direct peers about possible side-effects of medicines
• Monitor residents and initiate appropriate treatment in an emergency
• Wound management
• Reassuring and educating residents’ families
