Job summary

Summerset Levin village is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our casual pool, delivering quality aged care and supporting residents to live their best life.

As a casual, you’ll cover shifts at short notice, contribute to care plans, supervise the care centre on shifts, and work with families to enhance residents’ daily lives. You’ll need NZ Registration and Practising Certificate, passion for elder care, leadership and strong communication to connect with residents, families and colleagues.

Qualifications

• NZ Registration with a current Practising Certificate.
• Genuine interest in working with older people and understanding of clinical services in retirement villages.
• Demonstrated ability to take the lead, remain calm under pressure and be emotionally resilient.
• Good communication skills and ability to build rapport with residents, families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care.
• Creating and following long term care plans and clinical assessments.
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making clinical decisions.
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluating progress with residents and families.
• Providing guidance to caregivers on shift and building trust with residents and families.

As a Registered Nurse in our casual pool at our Levin village, you will be part of a team of casuals that provides quality aged care and creates the best most enjoyable lifestyle to our care centre residents. Our residents are often here for many years, and our approach to care is resident-directed. The ultimate focus is their quality of life.

Typical duties include:

• Managing residents’ everyday needs, from clinical to end-of-life care
• Creating and following long term care plans as well as clinical assessments
• Taking charge of the care centre on certain shifts and making appropriate clinical decisions
• Delivering planned nursing care and evaluate progress in partnership with the resident and their family to enhance their daily lives.
• Providing guidance and direction to the caregivers on shift
• Building trusted relationships with residents and their families

As a casual you will need to be available often at short notice for a variety of shifts.

Qualifications

As an experienced Registered Nurse, you will be seeking a rewarding role and feel motivated by enhancing residents’ lives.
