The Fono in Henderson seeks an experienced, culturally grounded Registered Nurse to join the Kahu Taurima team, supporting Pacific families through pregnancy, early parenting, and the first 2000 days of a child’s life across Waitemata.

You will work with families, health professionals, and community services to provide holistic, culturally responsive support and health education, building trusted relationships within communities.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with a current NZ Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Minimum 3 years’ nursing experience, ideally in community, maternal, child, or public health settings.
  • Strong understanding of Pacific cultures, values, and communities.
  • Ability to speak a Pacific language is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and relationship management skills.
  • Full NZ Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver culturally safe nursing assessments and support for Pacific families.
  • Support pregnant women and parents through early childhood health journeys.
  • Provide health education, advocacy and wellbeing support.
  • Conduct home visits and accompany clients to appointments where required.
  • Connect families with midwives, primary care, and community services.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide wraparound care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and case notes.
  • Use your cultural understanding and relationship-building skills to engage effectively with families and communities.

The Fono is seeking an experienced, culturally grounded Registered Nurse to join our Kahu Taurima team based in Henderson. This role focuses on supporting Pacific families through pregnancy, early parenting, and the first 2000 days of a child’s life — helping to create healthier futures for our communities.

About the Role

As part of the Kahu Taurima team, you will work alongside families, health professionals, and community services to provide holistic, culturally responsive support to pregnant women, parents, and young children across Waitemata.

You will build trusted relationships with families, provide health education and advocacy, and help ensure whānau can confidently access the services and support they need.

What You Will Be Doing

What We Are Looking For

  • Confidence working autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Full NZ Driver's Licence
