Job summary

Waireka Lifecare in Pahiatua is seeking a caring, clinically confident Registered Nurse to join our team on a casual basis. You will undertake resident clinical assessments, administer medications safely, and oversee wound care while supporting Enrolled Nurses and Healthcare Assistants.

You'll liaise with GPs and allied health providers, document care in VCare, and participate in a rotating roster including some weekends. APC required; strong aged care interest welcomed.

Qualifications

• NZ Registered Nurse with APC is required.
• Experience in aged care or hospital settings preferred.
• Willingness to work rotating rosters, including some weekends.
• Sound clinical judgement and strong communication.

We're looking for a caring, clinically confident Registered Nurse to join our team at Waireka Lifecare in 11 Halls Rd, Pahiatua 4910 in Insert Location, part of the New Zealand Aged Care Services (NZACS) group.

About the role

Undertake resident clinical assessments, including admission assessments, InterRAI, and ongoing care plan reviews.

Administer medications safely, including controlled drugs, in line with facility policy.

Provide and oversee wound care, and monitor and respond to changes in resident condition.

Supervise and support Enrolled Nurses and Healthcare Assistants during your shift.

Communicate openly and compassionately with residents and their families/whānau.

Accurately document care in VCare and escalated and report incidents in line with the SAC system.

Liaise with GPs, Nurse Practitioners, and allied health providers regarding resident care.

About you

Current New Zealand Registered Nurse registration with a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).

Aged care, hospital, or comparable clinical experience preferred; new graduates with a strong interest in aged care are welcome to apply.

Sound clinical judgement, attention to detail, and a calm, compassionate manner.

Willingness to work a rotating roster, including some weekends.
