Job summary

Howick Baptist Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, person-centred care in our aged residential setting in Auckland. You will lead and support Care Partners, coordinate resident care, and ensure evidence-based practice.

The role requires strong assessment skills, effective communication, and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care and uphold professional standards.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
• Experience in aged residential care preferred.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to lead and mentor within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments, care planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Monitor residents' health and respond appropriately to changes in their condition.
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with organisational policies and Nursing Council standards.
• Lead and support Care Partners, providing guidance and mentoring.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Liaise effectively with General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, allied health professionals, residents, and whānau.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, infection prevention and control, and health and safety activities.
• Ensure care is delivered in accordance with Ngā Paerewa Health and Disability Services Standard and best practice.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing professional nursing care that promotes the health, wellbeing, and dignity of our residents. You will lead and support Care Partners, coordinate resident care, and ensure high standards of practice through evidence-based care and compliance with legislative and professional standards.

This role requires strong assessment skills, sound judgement, and the ability to respond effectively to changing resident needs while fostering positive relationships with residents, families, and the wider healthcare team.
