Job summary

Tainui Village, part of Tainui Home Trust Board, in Westown, North Island, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team providing compassionate rest home and hospital level care for the elderly. This permanent part-time role offers 48–56 hours across 6–7 shifts per fortnight on a 24-hour roster with weekend work and flexible AM/PM/night shifts.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current NZ registration and Practising Certificate.
  • Experience in Palliative Care, Dementia, and InterRAI preferred but training provided.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of healthcare assistants.
  • Ensure high standards of clinical care and resident wellbeing.
  • Act as the key decision-maker and point of contact for families, staff, and allied health professionals.
  • Contribute to care planning, assessments, and documentation.
  • Foster a positive team culture and mentor junior staff.
  • Develop lasting relationships with residents and their families.
  • Wound care and medication management.

We’re seeking a dedicatedRegistered Nurseto be part of our team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in a supportive environment and is passionate about leading a team to deliver exceptional care.

This is a permanent part time position for 6-7 shifts per fortnight (48-56 hours).

Shifts are based on a 24-hour roster with weekend work required, AM, PM and night shift, so flexibility is essential.

You will use your nursing and people skills to:

Lead and support a team of healthcare assistants.

Ensure high standards of clinical care and resident wellbeing

Act as the key decision-maker and point of contact for families, staff, and allied health professionals

Contribute to care planning, assessments, and documentation.

Foster a positive team culture and mentor junior staff.

Develop lasting relationships with our residents and their families.

Wound care and medication management.
