Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a skilled drainlayer to join our team for new residential housing projects. This role focuses on setting out and installing drainage systems from the ground up, with opportunities for progression for experienced registered drainlayers.

You will install drainage systems for new builds, read plans, ensure compliance, and coordinate with builders and trades on-site. Uniform and PPE are supplied, with opportunities for further training and certification.

Qualifications

• Registered drainlayer with proven new residential experience.
• Strong knowledge of drainage standards and compliance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Install drainage systems for new residential builds, including stormwater and wastewater.
• Set out, trench, lay, and connect drains per plans and regulations.
• Read and interpret drainage and site plans accurately.
• Coordinate with builders, plumbers and other trades on site.
• Maintain a safe, tidy, and professional worksite at all times.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in setting out and installing drainage systems correctly from the ground up. We are open to experienced registered drainlayers looking to progress.

Key responsibilities

• Install drainage systems for new residential builds, including stormwater and wastewater
• Set out, trench, lay, and connect drains in accordance with plans and regulations
• Read and interpret drainage and site plans accurately
• Ensure all work meets local authority and compliance requirements
• Coordinate with builders, plumbers, and other trades on site
• Maintain a safe, tidy, and professional worksite at all times

About you

• Registered Drainlayer
• Proven experience in new house or residential drainage installation
• Strong understanding of drainage standards and compliance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good time management and attention to detail
• Current driver's licence
• Consistent work on new residential housing projects
• Supportive, safety-first team culture
