Job summary

RobLawMax Recruitment in Wellington Central is seeking a qualified Drainlayer ready to move into or advance a Project Management career. You will own multiple projects from planning through to completion, working with clients, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.

This role offers long-term stability, a varied workload across civil infrastructure, and a supportive leadership team that values practical knowledge and professional

Qualifications

  • Certified Drainlayer registration is required.
  • Level 4 Water Reticulation qualification is essential.
  • Experience in civil infrastructure project management or senior site management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage drainage, stormwater and water infrastructure projects.
  • Plan resources, labour and subcontractors across projects.
  • Monitor programme, budget and project performance.
  • Maintain client relationships and stakeholder communications.
  • Oversee health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
  • Support procurement and subcontractor management.
  • Manage project reporting, variations and contract administration.
  • Drive delivery outcomes and continuous improvement.

About the Role

Reporting to an experienced and supportive manager, you will take ownership of multiple projects from planning through to completion.

You will work closely with clients, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing drainage, stormwater and water infrastructure projects
  • Planning and coordinating project resources, labour and subcontractors
  • Monitoring programme, budget and project performance
  • Managing client relationships and stakeholder communications
  • Overseeing health, safety, quality and environmental compliance
  • Supporting procurement and subcontractor management
  • Managing project reporting, variations and contract administration
  • Driving project delivery outcomes and continuous improvement initiatives
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Certified Drainlayer registration
  • Level 4 Water Reticulation qualification (essential)
  • Previous Project Management or Senior Site Management experience within civil infrastructure
  • Be a kind, hard working, down to earth person with a good sence of humour
  • Current New Zealand working rights
