Job summary

Downer is seeking an experienced regional leader to oversee Greenspace contracts across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty. You’ll drive performance, manage budgets, and build solid client partnerships while leading multiple teams across two regions.

The role requires hands-on leadership, commercial acumen, and a track record of growing operations. Expect regular travel, a competitive package including a company vehicle, and career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience leading multiple contracts and regional teams.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and margin management.
• Excellent client and stakeholder management.
• Ability to identify operational improvements and growth opportunities.
• Horticulture or turf knowledge is useful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead Greenspace operations across Waikato and the Bay of Plenty.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships based on trust and integrity.
• Support operational managers, supervisors and field teams across both regions.
• Own budgets, forecasting, margins, claims, variations and commercial risk.
• Ensure contract performance, timeframes, quality standards and client expectations.
• Support tenders, contract renewals, regional planning and forward work programmes.
• Develop leadership capability and clear career pathways for team members.
• Lead a strong Zero Harm culture across all contracts and teams.
