Qualifications

• You will be an accomplished executive leader with experience operating in complex environments where stakeholder management, influence and relationship-building are critical to success.
• While previous Chief Executive experience is welcomed, we are equally interested in exceptional senior executives who are ready to take the next step into a Chief Executive position.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction across the organisation.
• Serve as principal adviser to Council, supporting sound governance and effective decision making.
• Lead the implementation of Council strategy and long-term priorities.
• Foster a high-performing, collaborative and accountable organisational culture.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with iwi, supporting meaningful engagement with tangata whenua.
• Represent Council across local, regional and national forums.
• Navigate complex stakeholder environments and balance diverse interests to achieve positive outcomes for the region.
• Ensure strong organisational performance, financial stewardship and effective risk management.
