Job summary

Taituarā Northland Regional Council is seeking an exceptional leader to join the Executive Leadership Team as Pou Taumatau - General Manager Corporate Services, guiding internal services, strategy, and performance.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will shape organisational capability across finance, IT, people and culture, risk, governance and assets, delivering continuous improvement and a high‑performing, customer‑focused workplace across Te Taitokerau.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience leading corporate services within a complex organisation.
• Experience driving organisational development, culture change and transformational programmes.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated success building high-performing teams and leadership capability.
• Ability to provide trusted advice to executive leaders and elected members.
• Cultural capability including Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic direction and performance of internal services functions.
• Provide leadership across organisational development, people and culture, finance, IT, audit and risk, governance, economic development and property.
• Champion continuous improvement and a high‑performing, customer‑focused workplace.
• Strengthen Council’s reputation and influence through strong internal/external relationships.
• Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to align priorities and support strategic decision‑making.
