Job summary

Enterprise Recruitment in Ashburton, South Island, is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to own the site's refrigeration systems. This hands-on role covers maintenance, fault-finding, and participation in upgrades within a busy food manufacturing environment.

You will bring NZQA Level 4 Refrigeration qualification (or equivalent) and strong ammonia refrigeration experience, plus practical, hands-on fault-finding skills.

Qualifications

• NZQA Level 4 Refrigeration qualification (or equivalent).
• Strong industrial refrigeration experience - ammonia experience is essential.
• Solid fault-finding skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
• Someone already based in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Looking after industrial refrigeration systems, including ammonia and freon plant equipment.
• Fault finding, troubleshooting, and carrying out repairs.
• Preventative maintenance to keep the plant running at its best.
• Working alongside the wider engineering team on plant upgrades and capital projects.
• Helping identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and performance.
• Playing a key role in the ongoing development of the site's refrigeration plant.

We're working with a well-established NZ success story that's continuing to invest heavily in its people, plant, and future growth. They're looking for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join their engineering team and take ownership of the site's refrigeration systems.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in everything from day-to-day maintenance and fault-finding, through to major plant upgrades and improvement projects.
