Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to own the site's refrigeration systems in a world-class manufacturing plant. The role is hands-on, covering day-to-day maintenance, fault-finding, and involvement in major plant upgrades and improvements.

You will work on industrial refrigeration systems with ammonia and freon, perform repairs, and partner with the engineering team to boost reliability and efficiency on capital projects.

Qualifications

• NZQA Level 4 Refrigeration qualification (or equivalent).
• Strong industrial refrigeration experience – ammonia experience is essential.
• Solid fault-finding skills with a practical, hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Looking after industrial refrigeration systems, including ammonia and freon plant equipment.
• Fault finding, troubleshooting, and carrying out repairs.
• Preventative maintenance to keep the plant running at its best.
• Working alongside the wider engineering team on plant upgrades and capital projects.
• Helping identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and performance.

We're working with a well-established NZ success story that's continuing to invest heavily in its people, plant, and future growth. They're looking for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join their engineering team and take ownership of the site's refrigeration systems.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in everything from day-to-day maintenance and fault-finding, through to major plant upgrades and improvement projects.

What you'll be doing

• Looking after industrial refrigeration systems, including ammonia and freon plant equipment
• Fault finding, troubleshooting, and carrying out repairs
• Preventative maintenance to keep the plant running at its best
• Working alongside the wider engineering team on plant upgrades and capital projects
• Helping identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and performance
• Playing a key role in the ongoing development of the site's refrigeration plant

What we're looking for

• NZQA Level 4 Refrigeration qualification (or equivalent)

• Someone already based in New Zealand
