Job summary

Howick House Medical, a long-established family medical centre in Howick, Auckland, seeks an experienced Receptionist Team Lead for a permanent part-time role (28 hours/week, Mon-Thu). You will lead a small team, ensure smooth front-desk operations, handle patient enquiries, and support the Practice Manager with process improvements and initiatives.

You’ll be the first point of contact for patients, delivering a professional, welcoming, and efficient experience while maintaining accurate records

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' medical reception experience in a general practice or healthcare setting.
• Experience using Medtech Evolution.
• Proven leadership or team lead experience.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
• Confidence to take charge and solve problems in a busy environment.
• Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Responsibilities

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Receptionist Team Lead to join our team on a permanent part-time basis (28 hours per week, Monday to Thursday).

Reporting to the Practice Manager, you'll lead a team of four Medical Receptionists while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our busy reception area. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll support patient experience, coordinate workflows, and assist the Practice Manager with key tasks, process improvements, and practice initiatives.

As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play an important role in creating a professional, welcoming, and efficient environment.
