Job summary

CareVets Kapiti is seeking a friendly receptionist to join our reception and retail team on the Kapiti Coast. We offer flexible full-time or part-time hours and a supportive, experienced team to help you succeed in a busy clinic environment.

In this role you will greet clients, manage bookings, answer enquiries, handle payments, and assist with product recommendations. Veterinary industry experience is welcome but not essential, and first-time entrants are encouraged to apply.

• Experience in customer-facing roles is preferred.

About the Clinic

CareVets Kapiti is a well-established companion animal clinic located on the beautiful Kapiti Coast. Our knowledgeable, hard-working team is committed to delivering outstanding patient care while fostering a supportive and collaborative workplace.

About the Role

Due to a change in circumstances for one of our team members, we're looking to add to our reception and retail team.

You’ll be an important part of the client experience, helping keep the front of house running smoothly while supporting our wider clinical team. Responsibilities include:

• Welcoming clients and patients into the clinic
• Managing appointments and bookings
• Answering phone and email enquiries
• Processing payments and invoices
• Providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service
• Supporting clients with retail and product recommendations
• Maintaining an organised and welcoming reception and retail area
• Supporting the wider team with day-to-day clinic tasks
• Helping ensure clients and their pets receive a positive experience

The role is open to both full-time and part-time applicants, with shared weekend work as part of the team roster.

About You

We're looking for someone friendly, organised, and confident working with people.

• Previous reception, retail, customer service, or administration experience is an advantage
• Veterinary industry experience is welcome but not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Friendly, approachable, and compassionate
• Organised with strong attention to detailComfortable multitasking in a busy environment
• Confident learning new computer systems and processes
• Positive team player who is happy to support wherever needed
