Transpower New Zealand is seeking a senior leader to head the Real-Time Systems Planning & Engineering Practices team, guiding experts across SCADA and RT systems. You’ll shape engineering practices, planning, assurance and continuous improvement while delivering a growing work programme to enable New Zealand’s energy future.

You’ll report to the Head of Real-Time Systems & Energy Market Services and lead a geographically dispersed team, coordinating with peers and stakeholders to align

• Proven experience leading and developing technical people and turning complex requirements into clear priorities.
• Collaborative and confident in engaging with technical, operational and business teams to influence outcomes without direct authority.

• Lead and develop technical specialists through coaching, knowledge sharing, and succession planning.
• Manage plans, budgets, work programmes and performance reporting, aligning resources with priorities.
• Strengthen policies, standards, governance and assurance to support consistent engineering practice.
• Oversee engineering environments, tools and change/release activities with cross-team alignment.
• Build trusted relationships with peers and stakeholders across divisions to deliver outcomes.
• Lead change and continuous improvement to strengthen delivery and operational resilience.
