Job summary

Te Whatu Ora Tairawhiti invites a suitably qualified Radiologist to join the Gisborne radiology team in a modern department serving a regional community of ~47,000 with inpatient, emergency and outpatient imaging. The role involves ultrasound, MRI and CT with 70% clinical work and 30% non-clinical duties.

On-call is approximately one night in four. Light intervention and mammography are optional, with opportunities to teach registrars and house officers.

Qualifications

• Must have MCNZ Vocational registration in the Scope of Practice of Diagnostic and interventional radiology or be eligible for MCNZ registration under Locum Tenens.

Responsibilities

• Interpret exams and triage imaging requests.
• Protocol imaging requests and consult with referring clinicians.
• Support radiology technology staff and participate in on-call roster (1 in 4 nights).
• Teach local medical and surgical house officers and registrars.
