Job summary

ACC Wellington seeks a Quality Engineer to ensure high-quality digital products and services. You will analyse requirements, design and execute functional and automated tests in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve delivery quality.

In this role, you will contribute to continuous improvement, strengthen testing practices, and help keep New Zealanders safe at work, home, and everywhere in between. Eligible applicants must have work rights in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• ISTQB Foundation qualification is preferred.

About the role

Mō te tūranga mahi As a Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring ACC delivers high-quality digital products and services that support New Zealanders when they need us most. Working in a collaborative Agile environment, you'll analyse requirements, design and execute functional and automated tests, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and strengthen testing practices across teams. This role offers the opportunity to influence quality outcomes while helping keep Kiwis safe at work, at home, and everywhere in between.

The appointing salary for this role is $90,039 to $110,047 based on experience. ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme (9% contribution) with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance.

About you

Mōu You will bring:

• A university qualification or equivalent experience, preferably with an ISTQB Foundation Qualification.
• Proven experience in quality engineering, test automation, software testing or software development.
• Strong understanding of functional testing techniques and the full software testing lifecycle.
• Experience working within Agile, Scrum or DevOps delivery environments.
• Essential experience with Java and knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium WebDriver, TestNG and similar technologies.
• Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git, Postman, SoapUI or related platforms.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risk and prioritise effectively.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and collaboration skills.
• A commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement and adopting new ways of working.
• Knowledge of AI and Machine Learning would be advantageous.
• Understanding of, and commitment to, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application within organisational practice.
• You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications will be validated as part of the recruitment process.
