Job summary

OneStaff is seeking a HACCP-certified Quality Controller for a busy night shift on the production floor in Mount Wellington, Auckland. You will monitor processes, perform quality checks, and ensure traceability to meet safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production processes to ensure food safety and quality.
  • Carry out routine inspections and quality checks on products.
  • Cross-check products, packaging, and production information.
  • Maintain accurate traceability records and documentation.
  • Complete HACCP checks and production logs accurately.
  • Identify and report quality or safety issues and implement corrective actions.

About the Role

We are looking for a HACCP Certified Quality Controller to join a busy food manufacturing operation on the night shift.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of food safety, quality and traceability. You will be working directly on the production floor, monitoring processes and physically checking products to ensure they meet the required standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor production processes and ensure food safety and quality standards are maintained.
  • Carry out routine inspections and quality checks of products throughout and at the end of the production line.
  • Physically cross‑check products, packaging, labels and production information.
  • Ensure accurate product traceability and maintain all required records and documentation.
  • Complete HACCP checks, logs and production records accurately.
  • Identify quality or food safety issues and implement corrective measures when required.
  • Monitor compliance with correct production, hygiene and food safety procedures.
  • Work closely with production staff to address issues and maintain standards.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on correct procedures and quality requirements.
  • Report any non‑conformances or concerns to the appropriate management.
The successful candidate will:
  • Have HACCP certification and preferably experience working in food manufacturing or food processing.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have good numeracy and record‑keeping skills.
  • Be comfortable working with seafood products.
  • Have an excellent eye for detail and a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Be hands‑on and physically fit, as the role requires regular movement around the production floor, product inspections and cross‑checking.
  • Be comfortable working on your feet and actively checking products, production lines and traceability requirements throughout the shift.
  • Be confident identifying issues and speaking up when quality or food safety standards are not being met.
  • Be reliable, responsible and able to work independently during the night shift.
