Job summary

DIALOG Fitzroy Ltd in New Plymouth, North Island, seeks an experienced QC Manager to lead our quality function and ensure delivery of high standards across operations. This permanent, full-time role is based in New Plymouth and may involve travel to site locations and regional offices.

DIALOG Fitzroy is a "design, construct and maintain" company with offices throughout New Zealand and Australia. In over sixty-five years, DIALOG Fitzroy has established a reputation as a leading provider of professional construction-led engineering, mechanical trade and fabrication, as well as industrial coatings and scaffolding to a diverse range of customers.

We are seeking an experienced and driven QC Manager to lead our quality function and ensure consistent delivery of quality standards across our operations. This permanent, full-time role is based in New Plymouth and may require travel to site locations and regional offices as needed.

This key leadership role is responsible for establishing and maintaining quality systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and providing technical leadership to QC teams across multiple regions to ensure consistent quality standards. Based in New Plymouth, you will oversee day-to-day quality control operations while partnering closely with Operations, Projects, Engineering, and clients to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Governance & Standards: Lead and oversee quality governance across all regions we work in, ensuring consistent standards, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. Support and mentor QC teams, driving alignment, best practice, and a high-performing quality culture across the business.
  • Operational Quality Leadership: Lead daily QC operations, ensuring effective planning, resource utilisation, inspections, and quality support across projects, teams and regions we operate in.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive quality performance and continuous improvement by monitoring results, reducing defects, and embedding lessons learned into business processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with operational teams and clients to ensure quality requirements are understood, aligned, and consistently achieved.
  • Health, Safety & Environment: Promote a strong HSE culture by ensuring compliance, supporting training, and leading incident reporting and investigation.
What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Experience

  • Proven experience in quality management and leadership roles.
  • Experience leading quality teams in manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, construction, or related industries.
  • Strong background in quality systems, audits, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and influence teams across multiple locations.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of quality systems, inspections, and documentation control.
  • Ability to drive accountability, consistency, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in Quality Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Lead Auditor or other quality certifications advantageous.
  • Knowledge of recognised quality management systems and standards.
  • Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
