Job summary

DIALOG Fitzroy in New Plymouth, New Zealand, is seeking an experienced Quality Control Engineer to support a varied portfolio of projects across Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, and Geothermal. You will ensure fabrication and construction activities meet project specifications, standards, and client expectations, writing Inspection and Test Plans and coordinating NDT.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and a commitment to safety and quality, with CBIP/CWI certification

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a mechanical engineering, fabrication, or quality control.
• Understanding of quality assurance processes and inspection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Write and execute Inspection and Test plans for diverse projects (Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, structural steel, Geothermal).
• Attend pre-start meetings, ensure work meets high standards, approve timesheets, and tackle team issues.
• Prepare weld maps, track materials, manage weld control sheets, and perform visual inspections as a Certified Welding Inspector and coordinate NDT.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers, Managers, Statutory Inspectors, Client Reps, Workshop staff, and QC team members.
• Working closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers, Statutory Inspectors, Client Representatives, Workshop Personnel, and the wider QC team
