Job summary

TSB is seeking a hands-on Quality Assurance Lead to drive testing practice across the Core Banking platforms, ensuring delivery teams can deploy, scale, and operate services safely.

You will lead QA in agile squads, mentor others, champion modern testing, design test strategies and automation, and provide on-call support to platform services.

Location can be Auckland, New Plymouth or Wellington; permanent, full-time role.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in testing with leadership of QA practices.
• 4+ years in cross-functional agile teams.
• Experience with QA in regulated environments.
• Relevant technology certification.

Quality Assurance Lead

About the role

You will be a hands-on QA lead responsible for driving and nurturing practice and process for Core Banking testing capability across the platforms. This role ensures that delivery and platform teams can deploy, scale, and operate services safely and securely. We are also looking for someone who is ready to roll up their sleeves to deliver hands on QA work for the Core Banking platform team.

Who are you?

You will be the voice of quality as well as a hands-on contributor, you will champion modern testing practices, collaboration, automation, and pragmatic risk-based approaches to deliver change on business-critical applications. You will have demonstrated experience leading testing in agile squads and testing programmes, growing testing capability, delivering test strategies, and providing mentoring and guidance to those coming to learn how QA in the Core Banking space works. You will have excellent planning and communication skills as you will be required to contribute to solution discovery and planning, requirements definition, specifications, estimations, experiments, implementation and release management planning .

In this role, you can expect to:

• Design, implement, and optimise testing practice and process including, automation, non-production environment management, test data management and release management.
• Contribute to the Core Banking space with hands on testing and QA consultancy for platform and change teams
• Take ownership and drive the QA Chapter, helping to uplift QA capability and cross team collaboration
• Contribute to platform discovery and operational monitoring.
• Provide proactive guidance and support across the teams’ platforms and services.
• Provide rostered 24 x 7 on-call support for system related issues within the platform group responsibilities .

We are looking for candidates who have:

• 10+ years’ experience across the testing domain, with strong experience leading QA practices, test strategy, delivery and continuous improvement.
• 4+ years’ practical experience within cross-functional, agile team environments
• Relevant technology certification
• QA experience within complex regulated environments
