Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Quality Assurance Inspector for their Queenstown operations in SA. You will inspect materials, in-process work, and finished parts to ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 standards.

Analyze measurements with calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and gauges, document findings, and collaborate with production teams to address non-conformities and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical QA certification preferred.
• 4+ years as a Quality Inspector in aerospace or manufacturing.
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints and specifications.
• Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of raw materials, in-process items, and finished aviation parts.
• Verify conformance to quality standards and regulatory requirements (AS9100).
• Document inspection results and non-conformities clearly and accurately.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and QC to resolve issues.
• Conduct internal audits and supplier quality assessments as required.
• Ensure calibration and upkeep of measuring equipment and a clean inspection area.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent manufacturer of aviation components, is seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Assurance Inspector to join their team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape . This role is crucial in ensuring that all manufactured products meet stringent quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. You will be responsible for inspecting materials, in-process work, and finished goods, documenting findings, and collaborating with production teams to address any non-conformities. This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment, contributing to the safety and reliability of critical aviation parts. A strong understanding of quality control principles and a keen eye for detail are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of raw materials, components, and finished aviation parts using various measuring and testing equipment.
• Verify that all manufacturing processes and products conform to established quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements (e.g., AS9100).
• Conduct in-process inspections at various stages of production to identify and report any deviations or defects.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and gauges, to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Review manufacturing records, inspection reports, and test results for accuracy and completeness.
• Document inspection findings, non-conformities, and corrective actions clearly and concisely.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality control departments to resolve quality issues and implement preventative measures.
• Participate in internal audits and supplier quality assessments as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and ensure proper calibration of all measuring equipment.
• Stay updated on industry quality standards and best practices in aviation manufacturing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in Quality Assurance or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Quality Inspector, preferably within the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and testing equipment.
• Familiarity with quality management systems, such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
• Knowledge of materials used in aviation manufacturing is a plus.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Queenstown, Eastern Cape .
