About the Role

Our client, a reputable manufacturer of specialized industrial components with operations impacting the Queenstown, Eastern Cape area, is seeking a diligent Industrial Engineer to oversee and enhance their quality systems and ensure regulatory compliance. This remote role requires a meticulous individual who can develop, implement, and maintain robust quality management frameworks. You will be responsible for defining quality standards, implementing inspection and testing procedures, analyzing quality data, and driving corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of quality methodologies and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of product quality and process integrity. This is a fully remote position, offering significant autonomy and the opportunity to influence quality across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring alignment with relevant ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Define quality control procedures, inspection protocols, and testing methodologies for raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products.
• Analyze quality data, identify trends, root causes of defects, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Conduct internal audits and support external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement teams to address quality issues and implement improvements.
• Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for personnel on quality procedures and best practices.
• Maintain quality documentation, records, and traceability systems.
• Monitor key quality performance indicators (KPIs) and report on the overall effectiveness of the QMS.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on quality assurance, quality control, and QMS implementation.
• In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 or other relevant quality management standards.
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and quality analysis tools.
• Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement CAPA effectively.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
• Experience in auditing and compliance is highly desirable.
• Prior experience supporting manufacturing operations within the Queenstown, Eastern Cape region or similar industrial environments is a plus.
