Job description

Disabilities Resource Centre Trust – Whakatane, North Island

Are you highly organised, calm under pressure and someone who naturally thinks a step ahead?

We are looking for a Quality and Risk Administrator to join our team at the Disabilities Resource Centre (DRC).

This is an important administrative role supporting the safe delivery of care to people in our community. You will help us keep on top of the risks, incidents, information and follow-up that sit behind providing safe, high-quality support.

You don’t need to be a clinician, but you do need to be an excellent administrator who is organised, reliable, comfortable managing competing priorities and able to see what needs to happen next.

About the Role

Working closely with our Quality and Risk Manager, Clinical and Referrals Teams, you will provide the administrative co-ordination that helps keep our care services safe, organised and responsive.

A key part of your role will be ensuring incidents, risks and concerns relating to client care are recorded, tracked and followed through, and that the right information gets to the right people.

You will also provide administrative support to our Clinical and Referrals Teams as required, helping the wider team work efficiently and ensuring important tasks don’t fall through the gaps.

What You Will Be Doing

Recording, maintaining and tracking client incidents, risks and care-related concerns.

Supporting follow-up actions and helping ensure these are completed and documented.

Maintaining accurate records, registers and documentation relating to quality and risk.

Supporting the Quality and Risk Team with reporting, monitoring and general administration.

Providing administrative support to the Clinical and Referrals Teams, including client documentation, data entry and coordination.

Helping identify where administrative processes could be clearer, smoother or more efficient.

Keeping track of multiple pieces of work and anticipating what needs to happen next.

Working closely with others across DRC to make sure information is communicated and followed through.

Contributing to a positive, supportive and collaborative team environment.

You Could Be the Right Person If You…

Have previous experience in an administration, co-ordination or business support role.

Are exceptionally organised and good at keeping track of the detail.

Can manage competing priorities without becoming flustered.

Are proactive and naturally think “what needs to happen next?”

Have strong attention to detail and understand the importance of accurate records.

Are confident using computer systems and Microsoft Office.

Communicate clearly, professionally and respectfully.

Are comfortable working with sensitive and confidential information.

Enjoy being part of a team and are happy to step in and help where needed.

Look for practical ways to make systems and processes work better.

Have a good sense of humour, ability to not take yourself too seriously and enjoy working as part of a busy, supportive team.

Experience within health, disability or community services would be useful, but it is not essential. For us, strong administration skills, good judgement, organisation and the right attitude are just as important.

Why Join DRC?

At DRC, our work is about supporting people with disabilities, older people and others within our community to live as independently as possible.

Behind good care is good organisation. In this role, the work you do will directly support our teams to provide safe, responsive and high-quality care.

You’ll join a friendly and supportive workplace where teamwork matters, ideas are welcomed and the work you do has a genuine purpose.

If you are an organised, capable administrator who likes keeping things on track, solving problems and being part of a team that makes a difference, we would love to hear from you.

Closing date is 22nd September 2026. We reserve the right to appoint a candidate before the closing date.
