Job summary

Access Community Health is seeking skilled Support Workers to provide in-home care across a flexible schedule, balancing study, family, or other commitments. You’ll support high-need clients with daily living tasks, medications, and safety, adapting care to what matters to each person.

Training starts soon after hire with ongoing refreshers and development pathways. A smartphone and NZ work eligibility are required, with driving duties included where needed.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or have equivalent, relevant experience.
  • Spinal injury experience.
  • Stoma Management experience.
  • Experienced in the use of a full, standing and two-person hoist.
  • Experience administering prescribed medication.
  • Love working with people and helping them thrive.
  • Be willing to learn, reflect, and adapt your approach to what matters for each person.
  • Have experience in or exposure to caregiving, disability support, aged care, community work, or otherpeople-facedroles.
  • Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds.
  • Intuitive and responsive to people’s needs.
  • Own a smartphone.
  • Have the right to work in New Zealand.
  • Full/restricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, respectful, person-centred support in people’s homes.
  • Assist with daily living activities including palliative cares, bowel cares, dementia, mental health, and medication.
  • Be flexible to accommodate client needs and scheduling.

You will provide safe, respectful, andperson‑centredsupport in people’s homes, being mindful of what matters to them, including their culture, values, beliefs, routines, and boundaries.

Whakangungu| Training

We provide practical and online training during the first few weeks of employment. With theadded bonusof year-round training with regular refreshers and new modules to keep skills up to date.You’llbe supported through structured induction, ongoing training, refreshers, and clear development pathways.

MōhouAke | About You

The following skills and experience may be required depending on the specific client needs you are matched to.
