Job summary

Access Community Health in Kaiapoi, South Island, is seeking caregivers for evening and overnight shifts based on community needs. You will provide safe, respectful, and person-centred support in clients' homes, assisting with daily living and medication management.

We offer practical, online training during induction, with year-round refreshers and clear development pathways to support your growth in a people-focused role.

Qualifications

  • Holds a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Spinal injury experience is preferred.
  • Experience administering prescribed medication in a care setting.
  • Demonstrates care with dignity and respect for people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Owns a smartphone and has the right to work in New Zealand.
  • Has a valid full or restricted driver's license.
  • Committed to ongoing learning and development in care roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, respectful, and person-centred support in people’s homes.
  • Assist with daily living activities and medical-related tasks as required.
  • Respect culture, values, beliefs, routines, and boundaries of clients.
  • Support clients with all elements of daily living, including palliative and dementia care.

Looking for a role that works around your life? Whetheryou’rebalancing study, family, or other commitments, we are offering evening and overnight shifts based on the care needs in our community. Each Tangata will have high risk individual care requirements, and you will support them with all elements of daily living such as Palliative cares, Bowel cares, Dementia, Mental health, Medication. You will provide safe, respectful, andperson‑centredsupport in people’s homes, being mindful of what matters to them, including their culture, values, beliefs, routines, and boundaries.

We provide practical and online training during the first few weeks of employment. With theadded bonus of year-round training with regular refreshers and new modules to keep skills up to date.You’llbe supported through structured induction, ongoing training, refreshers, and clear development pathways.

  • Hold a Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification or have equivalent, relevant experience
