Job summary

Access caregivers are sought to support clients in their own homes, delivering safe, respectful, person-centered care tailored to individual needs and cultural values. The role includes high-risk care requirements across daily living tasks, medication, and mobility support, with structured induction and ongoing training provided.

The position is 35 hours per week, with a pay rate of $30.27 per hour, reflecting NZ market norms for skilled support workers and opportunities for career development

Qualifications

  • Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate is required (NZ recognised).
  • Minimum 18 months' proven experience in the Support Worker role.
  • Spinal injury experience is required.
  • Experience managing autonomic dysreflexia is required.
  • Experience administering prescribed medication.
  • Experience using full, standing, and two-person hoists.
  • Ability to use written support plans appropriately.
  • Understand and respect Te Tiriti o Waitangi with a bi-cultural approach.
  • Full driver's license is required.
  • Be willing to learn, reflect, and adapt approach to each person.
  • Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds.

  • You’ll be supported through structured induction, ongoing training, refreshers, and clear development pathways.
