Job summary

Montessori Educare Limited in Palmerston North is seeking a certificated teacher for a single-site Montessori centre licensed for 50 tamariki aged 2 to 6 years. The role is part-time (0.4 FTTE) with predictable rosters and no late shifts, working Monday and Friday 8.30am-1.30pm and Tue-Thu 8.30am-3.45pm (TBC).

You will bring a recognised ECE qualification with NZ registration, a Montessori passion, and a collaborative, proactive approach to planning, assessment and whānau communication.

Qualifications

• Recognised ECE qualification with provisional or full NZ registration.
• Passion for Montessori (experience preferred, but training provided for the right candidate).
• Proactive, collaborative team player confident in planning, individualised assessment, and whānau communication.
• Willingness to cover shifts within operational hours when needed for staff consistency.
• Must have valid legal rights to work in NZ (Montessori Educare is not an INZ Accredited Employer).

About the role

Join Palmerston North's original standalone Montessori centre, a warm, single-site learning community licensed for 50 tamariki aged 2 to 6 years. Guided by a supportive team leader, we operate a modern distributed leadership model where every kaiako is empowered, valued, and encouraged to share leadership. Our programme blends Montessori philosophy with Te Whāriki, grounded in aroha, independence, whanaungatanga, and respect.
