Job summary

Wyma is a leading engineering company with a head office in Christchurch, NZ, designing and manufacturing post-harvest handling equipment. We are expanding our procurement team to own the full order lifecycle from reviewing needs to raising purchase orders and tracking delivery.

The role focuses on procurement for manufacturing, liaising with suppliers, ERP data management, and stock control, with a supportive team and opportunities for CIPS qualification.

Qualifications

• Purchasing experience in a manufacturing or export environment.
• CIPS qualification is a nice-to-have, though not essential.
• Proven experience working with ERP systems.
• Strong data management skills, including pivot tables, SQL, Excel.
• Collaborative team player with ability to work independently.
• Solid communication skills and confidence interacting with suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Own the full order lifecycle from purchase order to delivery tracking and pricing verification on receipt.
• Process drawing packs and review procurement requirements to prepare material specs.
• Procure and purchase materials for manufacturing.
• Manage ERP data and support stock control and inventory.
• Liaise with suppliers to keep orders on track.

With growth and plenty of ongoing and exciting work comes the need for additional people, and due to internal promotion, we are looking for a Purchasing Officer to support the purchasing and supply chain needs of the manufacturing, sales, and design functions.

About the role

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, as part of the procurement team, you will own the full order lifecycle, from reviewing procurement needs to raising purchase orders, tracking delivery and managing ERP and stock management.

In particular, you will:

• Process drawing packs and review procurement requirements, preparing Material Requirements Specifications


• Procure and purchase materials for manufacturing


• Own the full order lifecycle, from raising purchase orders through to tracking delivery and verifying pricing at receipt


• Manage ERP data and support inventory/stock control


• Liaise with suppliers and keep orders on track

To be successful in the role, you will have:

• Purchasing experience in a manufacturing or export environment


• CIPS qualification is a nice-to-have, though not essential


• Proven experience working with ERP systems


• Strong data management skills, including confidence with the likes of pivot tables, SQL, Excel


• A collaborative team player approach with ability to work independently


• Solid communication skills and confidence interacting with suppliers
