Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Lakes is seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join the Rotorua iCAMHS team within the Childrens Health Hub. The role focuses on delivering high-quality clinical services to Tamariki, taiohi, and whanau, aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ara Tauwhirotanga.

Flexible hours include full-time or part-time commitments with a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Strong assessment and therapeutic intervention skills.
• Ability to connect and build trusting relationships with a wide range of people.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and with other clinicians in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Competency with te Ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver effective clinical services ensuring quality care and a safe recovery journey across the care continuum.
• Provide community mental health care based on best practice and collaborative working within the interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure inter-disciplinary referrals within the team are performed with consent from tangata whaiora and whānau (where applicable).
• Work collaboratively with internal and external partner organisations.

About the Role

• Full time or Part time (minimum 16 hours per week)
• Working business hours (Mon Fri 8am to 4:30pm)
• We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Psychologist with an interest in and experience in working with children in a specialist clinical setting, to join our multi-disciplinary teams

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our team of mental health clinicians work closely together as a multi-disciplinary team to provide mental health assessments and treatment to Tamariki (children), taiohi (young people) and whanau (extended family). The Rotorua team works closely aligned to other child & adolescent health services at Te Aka Mauri, the Childrens Health Hub, located in the Rotorua Public Library building.The Lakes Mental Health & Addiction co-designed model of care, Te Ara Tauwhirotanga, actively promotes compassionate, person-centered care. About you

• Registration, or be eligible for registration, with a NZ professional body, hold a current full clean NZ drivers licence, and meet requirements for the childrens worker safety checks.
• An ability to connect and build trusting relationships with a wide range of people from the community.
• It is preferred that the successful candidate has strong assessment and therapeutic intervention skills.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and with other clinicians in our skilled multi-disciplinary team.
• Full registration with the New Zealand Psychologists Board
• Masters Degree (Clinical Psychology) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) preferred.
• Competency with te Ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
