Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Gisborne Hospital is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join the Infant, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (ICAMHS) in Tairāwhiti. The role provides specialist psychological assessment, diagnosis and treatment for tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau with moderate to severe mental health needs.

You will work across anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD and other presentations, within a multidisciplinary team, upholding Te Tiriti principles and culturally safe

Qualifications

  • Registration with the NZ Psychologists Board.
  • Strong clinical assessment and psychotherapeutic skills across a range of mental health presentations.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, privacy requirements, and professional ethical standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to culturally safe practice and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Experience working in Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Infant, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (ICAMHS), Te Whare O Te Rito, in Tairāwhiti.This community-based role provides specialist psychological assessment, diagnosis and treatment for tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau experiencing moderate to severe mental health and behavioural challenges. You will work across a broad range of presentations including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, eating disorders, substance abuse and complex mental health.

Te Whare O Te Rito is part of the infant, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (ICAMHS within the Te Ara Maioha (Mental Health & Addictions) Group. The service is dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of children, young people and their whānau across the Tairāwhiti region.
