Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Lakes invites applications for a part-time Clinical Psychologist (0.4FTE/32 hours per fortnight) to join the iCAMHS team at Taupo Hospital. The role focuses on infant, child and adolescent mental health services delivered within a Te Tiriti o Waitangi framework and multidisciplinary settings.

• Masters Degree (Clinical Psychology) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent).
• Hold a current full clean NZ driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• To facilitate the delivery of effective clinical services ensuring quality care and a safe recovery journey across the care continuum.
• To provide community mental health care based on current best practice and collaborative working within the interdisciplinary team.
• To ensure all inter-disciplinary referrals within the team will be performed with consent from tangata whaiora and their whānau (where applicable).
• To work collaboratively with complementary internal and external partner organisations.

About the Team/Service/Location

Our team of mental health clinicians work closely together as a multi-disciplinary team to provide mental health assessments and treatment to Tamariki (children), taiohi (young people) and whanau (extended family). The Taupo Team works closely with the Taupo Adult Mental Health Teams, and with other child and youth health providers within the Taupo community. About you

• Full registration with the New Zealand Psychologists Board
• Masters Degree (Clinical Psychology) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) preferred.
• Hold a current full clean NZ drivers licence, and meet requirements for the childrens worker safety checks.
• An ability to connect and build trusting relationships with a wide range of people from the community. It is preferred that the successful candidate has strong assessment and therapeutic intervention skills.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and with other clinicians in our skilled multi-disciplinary team.
• Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
