Connetics in Christchurch is actively seeking a Protection Technician to join our team. You will perform testing, commissioning, maintenance and fault finding of protection systems and substation equipment across the network, contributing to reliable power delivery.

You'll work with experienced technicians on varied projects, including zone substation protection schemes, documentation, standby duties and travel when required, with opportunities for ongoing training and career development.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Electrician with a current practising licence or hold a Level 5 Power Technician qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in protection testing, commissioning, substations, or a related electrical environment.
• Knowledge of protection relays or Omicron testing equipment is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Testing and commissioning substation and protection equipment.
• Fault finding, maintenance, and repair of protection systems.
• Commissioning zone substation protection schemes and associated equipment.
• Preparing inspection and test documentation and supporting project delivery.
• Supporting standby, fault response, and travel when required.
