Job summary

Summerset Manukau village is seeking a proactive Property Assistant for a full-time role. You will work with the Property Manager and Head Gardener to maintain the village, support maintenance tasks, and ensure safety and beauty across the site.

The position runs Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. From April 2027, work will be split between Manukau and the new Half Moon Bay village, with three days at Half Moon Bay and two days at Manukau.

Qualifications

• Experience in property maintenance and gardening.
• Strong DIY or trade skills; part trade preferred.
• Ability to work independently and take pride in your work.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with general property and garden maintenance.
• Helping with building maintenance and refurbishments.
• Assisting with landscaping, gardening, and ground care.
• Taking part in property inspections and reporting issues.
• Communicating clearly with residents, team members, and contractors.

Job Description

We’re looking for a proactive and hands-on Property Assistant to join our friendly team at Summerset Manukau village. In this full-time role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining the high standards Summerset takes pride in – helping to keep our village safe, beautiful, and running smoothly.

You’ll work closely with the Property Manager and Head Gardener to support a wide range of maintenance and gardening tasks across the village. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and the satisfaction of a job well done.

• Assisting with general property and garden maintenance
• Helping with building maintenance and refurbishments
• Assisting with landscaping, gardening, and ground care tasks
• Taking part in property inspections and reporting safety or maintenance issues
• Communicating clearly and respectfully with residents, team members, and contractors

This full-time position is based in our Manukau village, working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. From April 2027, your time will be split between our Manukau and our new Half Moon Bay village, with 3 days per week based in Half Moon Bay and 2 days in Manukau.
