Job summary

Omexom New Zealand is seeking a Project Supervisor for our Distribution Maintenance Services. The role involves assembling work packs, drafting switching schedules, and on-site supervision of power outages, coordinating with project managers and technical staff.

You will plan activities, develop cost-effective methods, and monitor costs while ensuring safety, environmental and quality standards are met. This full-time role requires governance of contract terms and close collaboration with

Qualifications

  • Live line qualification or polytechnic qualification preferred.
  • Experience in distribution network installation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements for electrical work.
  • Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate project activities with Project Managers, design teams, customers, and technical staff.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective engineering methods and procedures that comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Schedule resources and manage technical project work in alignment with project timelines and deliverables.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to technical staff to maintain productivity and foster positive industrial relations.
  • Assist in scoping, estimating, and pricing of Purchase Orders.
  • Support Project Managers with progress claims, scope change assessments, and preparation of technical reports.
  • Identify and assess project risks to prevent outages, equipment damage, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the development of inspection and test plans (ITPs), job packs, and commissioning documentation.
  • Monitor and track costs associated with job-specific plant and equipment on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with technical specifications and performance standards.
  • Ensure all project activities adhere to the terms of the Contract Agreement for both Omexom and the customer.

About the Role

Looking for your next big opportunity? We've got an exciting Project Supervisorrole in our Distribution Maintenance Services Business Unitjust for you! The successful candidate will work on key responsibilities like:

  • Plan and coordinate project activities with Project Managers, design teams, customers, and technical staff.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective engineering methods and procedures that comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Schedule resources and manage technical project work in alignment with project timelines and deliverables.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to technical staff to maintain productivity and foster positive industrial relations.

Order (PO) projects.

  • Support Project Managers with progress claims, scope change assessments, and preparation of technical reports.

Qualifications and Skills
  • A live line qualification and/or tertiary qualification at a polytechnic is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in distribution network installation and maintenance.
  • A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements for the carrying out of all prescribed electrical work.
  • Sound computer skills
