Job summary

Ventia in Canterbury, NZ, is seeking a Distribution Supervisor to lead field crews delivering electrical distribution and infrastructure projects across Canterbury. You will oversee safe, on-time delivery of maintenance, capital works, and fault response while guiding a high-performing team of linespeople and technicians.

Qualifications

• Experience in electricity distribution, utilities, or power infrastructure.
• Proven leadership and people management abilities.
• Knowledge of safety requirements and compliance standards.
• Experience coordinating field-based teams and contractors.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• NZ Electrical Registration or relevant industry qualifications preferred.
• Valid full Class 1 Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.
• Coordinate daily operations, resources, contractors, and equipment.
• Support the delivery of maintenance, capital works, and network projects.

In this hands‑on leadership role, you'll oversee the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance, construction, fault response, and project work while supporting a high‑performing team of Linespeople, Cable Jointers, Technicians, and Electrical Fitters.
