Job summary

HEB Construction, part of VINCI Construction, in Invercargill, is seeking an experienced Project Planner to develop and optimise detailed programmes for major civil projects across tendering and delivery. You will work with engineering, commercial and operations teams to align schedules with project goals, manage risks and forecast milestones.

The role requires strong knowledge of civil construction sequencing, earned value reporting and programme controls, with proficiency in Primavera P6.

Qualifications

• Significant experience developing programmes for civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, staging and delivery methodologies.
• Proven ability to use planning and scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to stakeholders.
• Experience working across tender and delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop integrated construction programmes from first principles.
• Create detailed schedules covering design, procurement, consenting and construction.
• Perform critical path analysis and identify delivery improvements.
• Monitor progress and update programmes throughout delivery.
• Identify and mitigate programme risks with project teams.

We're seeking an experienced Project Planner to join our team in Invercargill, supporting the planning, programming and successful delivery of major civil infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably through industry-leading planning and controls practices.

The Opportunity

As a Project Planner, you'll be responsible for developing, maintaining and optimising detailed project programmes that support both tendering and project delivery. Working closely with operational, engineering and commercial teams, you'll help identify opportunities, manage risks and provide the critical project insights that drive successful outcomes.

• Developing integrated construction programmes from first principles
• Creating detailed schedules covering design, procurement, consenting and construction activities
• Performing critical path analysis and identifying opportunities to improve project delivery
• Monitoring project progress and updating programmes throughout delivery
• Working with project teams to identify and mitigate programme risks
• Undertaking earned value analysis, forecasting and progress reporting
• Producing cashflow forecasts, resource histograms and project performance reports
• Supporting tender submissions with robust and competitive construction programmes

About You

You'll be an experienced planner with a strong understanding of civil construction methodologies, sequencing and project controls.

You'll also bring:

• Proven experience using planning and scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or similar
