Job summary

Fletcher Construction is seeking a talented Programme Manager to lead planning excellence for Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi). You will head the planning function, guide a small team of planners, and partner with construction and engineering leaders to ensure sequencing, forecasting and reporting drive successful project delivery.

With 12+ years in programme management and advanced Primavera P6 capability, you will identify risks, delays and opportunities to optimise outcomes

Qualifications

• 12+ years in programme management or construction planning on large projects.
• Advanced Primavera P6 capability and experience managing complex programmes.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and engineering-led delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, management, and ongoing optimisation of the project programme using Primavera P6.
• Direct a team of two planners and provide guidance to the planning function.
• Collaborate with construction and engineering teams to define practical delivery sequences.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and recovery opportunities for timely delivery.
• Deliver programme governance, reporting, forecasting and schedule analysis for decision making.
• Drive continuous improvement in planning practices and programme governance.

Are you ready to make a significant impact on a transformative project? Fletcher Construction is seeking a talented and innovative Programme Manager to lead planning excellence for Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi).

About the Role

In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for the overall programme management and planning function for Te Awa Kairangi. Leading a team of planners, you'll work closely with construction and engineering leaders to ensure project sequencing, forecasting and reporting support successful project delivery. Your expertise will help identify opportunities to improve productivity, manage programme risks and optimise delivery outcomes.

• Lead the development, management, and ongoing optimisation of the project programme using Primavera P6
• Lead the planning function, providing direction and support to a team of two planners
• Partner with construction and engineering teams to develop practical, achievable delivery sequences
• Monitor progress against programme milestones and identify risks, delays, and recovery opportunities
• Deliver programme governance, reporting, forecasting and schedule analysis to support project decision-making
• Drive continuous improvement in planning practices, programme governance and project outcomes

What you’ll bring to the role

• 12+ years' experience in programme management, construction planning or scheduling on large infrastructure or civil projects
• Advanced Primavera P6 capability and extensive experience managing complex project programmes
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and engineering-led project delivery
• Proven experience leading a planning function and mentoring planning professionals
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders

Te Awa Kairangi Alliance is delivering transport, walking and cycling improvements to the SH2 Melling interchange and rail station, as part of a wider flood protection and city revitalisation programme.
