About the Role

Our client, a dynamic entity focused on regional development, is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to oversee critical infrastructure projects within Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This role is instrumental in driving the successful planning, execution, and completion of projects aimed at improving local infrastructure and community services. You will manage the entire project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to stringent quality, safety, and budgetary requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in infrastructure project management, coupled with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of public sector infrastructure projects, such as roads, water systems, and community facilities.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Oversee procurement processes, contract administration, and contractor performance management.
• Ensure strict compliance with all relevant government regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
• Conduct site inspections, monitor project progress, and identify and resolve issues promptly.
• Manage project risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential challenges.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and government agencies.
• Prepare and present detailed project status reports, financial updates, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure projects are completed within scope, on time, and within budget, meeting quality and safety objectives.
• Engage with local communities to address concerns and ensure project benefits are realized.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with a significant portion dedicated to public sector or infrastructure development projects.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering infrastructure projects in a municipal or governmental context.
• Strong knowledge of public procurement processes and contract management.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and GIS systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience working within the Eastern Cape region is advantageous.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model, combining site visits and remote work.
• Registered Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) or PMP certification is highly desirable.
