Job summary

Archway Recruitment is seeking an Intermediate Project Manager for a well-established property and project management consultancy in Wellington, New Zealand. You will manage a range of property projects from planning through construction and handover, coordinating project teams and stakeholders to meet quality, programme and budget objectives.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years' experience in construction, property or project management
  • Experience in consultancy, contractor, client-side property team, developer or related environment
  • Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Building Science, Architecture, Engineering, Property or related discipline

Responsibilities

  • Managing project delivery across multiple property and building projects
  • Developing and maintaining strong client, consultant, contractor and stakeholder relationships
  • Supporting procurement activities, tender evaluations and contractor engagement processes
  • Coordinating project programmes and monitoring milestones
  • Managing project risks and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Monitoring budgets, variations and financial performance
  • Facilitating communication between design teams, contractors and client representatives
  • Undertaking site visits and monitoring construction progress
  • Preparing project reports and providing regular updates to stakeholders

Our client is a well-established property and project management consultancy delivering a broad range of property-focused projects across New Zealand. They work with public and private sector clients to provide expert advice and project delivery services across asset renewals, refurbishments, building upgrades, capital works and development programmes.

Due to a strong pipeline of work, they are seeking an Intermediate Project Manager to join their growing team.


The Role

This opportunity is ideal for someone who has gained experience within the property, construction or building sector and is looking to take the next step in their consulting career.


Working alongside experienced project professionals, you will help manage a range of property projects from initial planning and procurement through to construction and handover. Projects are varied and may include building refurbishments, landlord works, tenancy fit-outs, condition-based renewals, seismic improvements, repairs, alterations and capital upgrades.


You will play a key role in coordinating project teams, managing stakeholder relationships and ensuring projects achieve quality, programme and budget objectives.


Key Responsibilities Include

  • Managing project delivery across multiple property and building projects.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Supporting procurement activities, tender evaluations and contractor engagement processes.
  • Coordinating project programmes and monitoring project milestones.

Role Requirements

To be successful in this position you will ideally bring:


  • A minimum of 2 years' experience within the construction, property or project management sector.
  • Experience working within a consultancy, contractor, client-side property team, developer or related environment.
  • A relevant qualification in Construction Management, Building Science, Architecture, Engineering, Property or a related discipline.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving capability.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of project outcomes.
  • A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within property project management.
