Southern Cross Hospital – Auckland, North Island

Ready to lead projects that will shape the future of healthcare across Aotearoa?

As our Project Manager – ePMO, you’ll lead complex Digital Services projects that support hospital upgrades, major developments and other high-priority initiatives across Southern Cross Healthcare. Working at the intersection of technology, property, clinical and operational delivery, you’ll play a key role in turning strategic plans into successful outcomes.

This is a highly visible role where you’ll work closely with Executive leaders, hospital General Managers, Property & Development teams, clinicians, technology specialists and external delivery partners. You’ll be the key point of contact for Executive Sponsors, ensuring technology requirements are understood early, risks and dependencies are managed, and projects are delivered to the required scope, cost, quality and timeframe.

You’ll take ownership across the full project lifecycle, from early planning, design and cost estimation through procurement, implementation, commissioning, go-live and handover. You’ll coordinate diverse technology teams and subject matter experts across infrastructure, networks, applications, cyber security, clinical technology and operational support, ensuring solutions are practical, supportable and ready for the future.

Beyond individual projects, you’ll also contribute to the continued development of our ePMO practice, sharing your expertise, coaching other delivery professionals and helping strengthen project management capability across Southern Cross Healthcare.

If you’re an experienced Project Manager who enjoys working on complex initiatives, engaging senior stakeholders and bringing people together to deliver meaningful change, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact across one of New Zealand’s leading healthcare organisations.

  • Significant experience working within a PMO or Enterprise Project Management Office
  • Demonstrable experience delivering complex technology projects, ideally within healthcare, construction, property development or another operationally critical environment
  • Proven ability to independently drive multiple concurrent projects or workstreams through planning, design, procurement, implementation and handover
  • Strong project and programme management capability, with a practical, delivery-focused approach
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary technology teams and subject matter experts
  • Experience contributing technology requirements to building, facility or major development projects
  • Strong commercial awareness, including experience with budgets, forecasts, vendor proposals and change requests
  • Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships, including senior and Executive-level stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver effective executive presentations
  • Strong judgement, initiative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make decisions
  • Experience coaching or mentoring project teams and contributing to project management capability

Highly regarded:

  • Recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent
  • Knowledge of change management methodologies such as PROSCI/ADKAR
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
  • Competitive Rewards: Attractive remuneration package and employee referral bonus scheme.
  • Health & Wellbeing: Funded health insurance, a comprehensive wellbeing programme, and generous Christmas/New Year breaks.
  • Flexibility & Growth: Flexible working arrangements
