Placements24 is seeking a Project Manager to lead the development and deployment of agricultural technology solutions for farming sectors. You will bridge technology and agriculture, driving efficiency, sustainability and yield improvements for farmers in Queenstown.

Collaborate with R&D, engineering, sales, and field operations to deliver projects from concept to implementation. The ideal candidate has a passion for agriculture, 5+ years of project management experience in tech implementation

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

About the Role

Our client, a leading innovator in agricultural technology, is seeking a driven Project Manager to oversee the development and deployment of cutting-edge solutions for the farming sector. This role is instrumental in bridging the gap between technology and agriculture, driving efficiency, sustainability, and yield improvements for farmers. You will manage projects from concept through to implementation, working closely with R&D, engineering, sales, and field operations teams. The ideal candidate will have a passion for agriculture and a strong project management background, with experience in technology implementation. This role is based in Queenstown, Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of agricultural technology projects.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, agronomists, software developers, and field technicians.
• Manage relationships with key partners, suppliers, and agricultural clients.
• Oversee the implementation and testing of new technologies, such as precision farming equipment, IoT sensors, and data analytics platforms.
• Ensure projects comply with relevant agricultural regulations and industry standards.
• Track project progress, identify potential issues, and implement timely solutions.

• Communicate project status and outcomes effectively to senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably in the AgriTech or a related technology sector.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects from initiation to completion.
• Strong understanding of agricultural practices and challenges.
• Experience with technology implementation, software development lifecycle, or hardware deployment.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders, including farmers and technical experts.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
