Job summary

Randstad NZ is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a Wellington-based contract role ending 30 June 2027. You will lead planning, coordination and implementation of programme activities, ensuring delivery milestones and stakeholder engagement across the project stream.

The role requires strong business focus, governance reporting, and the ability to manage delivery timelines, risks, and supplier coordination.

Project Manager - Contract role

Our client is looking to hire an experienced business-focused Project Manager who will lead the planning, coordination and implementation of programme activities, ensuring successful delivery of outputs, stakeholder engagement, national event delivery, and operational readiness. This will be a Wellington based contract role till the end of June 2027.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the programme implementation roadmap.
• Coordinate planning activities across operational and change stakeholders.
• Lead the planning and delivery of the programme, including management of regional delivery schedules, event sequencing, and implementation windows.
• Manage delivery timelines, milestones and implementation dependencies.
• Lead planning and coordination for industry engagement and support activities.
• Oversee event delivery providers and logistics suppliers responsible for venues, registrations, travel, accommodation, catering, technology and on-the-day operations.
• Support readiness planning, communications and implementation activities.
• Prepare governance reporting and status updates for senior leaders.
• Manage delivery risks relating to logistics, supplier performance, participation, scheduling and operational readiness.
• Coordinate post-implementation reviews, evaluation activities and lessons learned.
